Did anyone see what I saw on the Presidents State of the Union Address last night? Well I'm not coming down on any one Party for any particular reason but the divisiveness i saw was unbelievable. No wonder half the crap that needs to get done isn't getting done. Then the arrogance of the Democrats to be a bunch of smart asses in getting up to cheer about the Presidents defeat on the Social Security bill last year. I don't get it. I didn't think it was appropriate but that's just me. Most of that divisiveness carried on for most of the speech. What can you say, that's the shape this country is in right now. Some of you reading this might even feel vastly different than the way I feel--that's okay though, this is Gone Underground Free America, so say and feel what you want. There were was the dependence on foreign oil issue that the Parties seemed to be in agreement on. There were a great many issues the President brought up and of course the War came up. However I am often put off by what doesn't get reported and why the media dilutes what is seen in the news. Are they Anti-Bush or Anti-War? Now don't misunderstand the context of being anti-war, I believe everyone is anti-war, including me but I'm talking about the war we are in right now and what we are doing there. I know of things that don't get reported, things that I know would be reported if I was a producer of television news. Why these things aren't seen on CNN, I don't know. I know this, if the media supported the President and supported the war, you would hear about bodies found with gunshot wounds to the back of the head. I know I got off topic but media drives me nuts with their crap.
My peeps on the ground tell me don't believe anything you hear on CNN, its all bullshit. Now I said anything, I didn't say everything. Again, my peeps tell me don't believe anything you hear on CNN, its all bullshit.
I didn't get to watch it, I took my grandmother to the movies, saw Brokeback Mountain.

Until I watched this speech, I tried to defend some of them who say they are against the war. No more. The disgraceful reactions of the dems during that speech left me no doubt that they do not care about anything but getting themselves back in power. It is ALL about politics. They hate the President and they want to drag him down by any means, even if it means destroying the morale of our troops, or worse. All you needed was to watch their eye rolling and their disrespectful behavior. Like him or not, GWB is our President and deserved respect from those present. Dems are setting a dangerous precedent for how future leaders of their party get treated.

Smiles,
BBM....I will make it a point to check that one out.
SK,
I could not, I repeat, I could not agree with what you said more. It was pitiful how they acted. I thought I was watching a bunch of juveniles, damn frikkin disgraceful. Disgraceful!!

Being a Democrat, if representatives of my part acted the way you have described, I am truly embarrassed. The leaders of our country should have better manners than to act like kindergardeners, in anyone's presence, be it mine or the President.

My personal favorite was Senator Clinton's response to the President's joke about his father's "two favorite people." Did anyone see that?
Your comment that we're all against war is what I wish they would understand. If I cry every frickin night because I would rather not remember where my favorite Marine is, I would say, uh, I don't want him or anyone else there. Yeah, I'm anti-war. But I'm also anti-tyranny. You can't, as much as they might want it to be true, reason with a tyrant. Period.

Smiles,
Yeah, I was actually embarrassed myself, grown men and woman of this country, leaders of this country no less, acting like that, partisan politics or not, they shouldnt have done that.
Elaina,
Yes, I caught the "father joke" as well. Of course, I dont think anyone in their right mind is favor of war for any reason but not even me but mess with a citizen (even the ones that wouldnt appreciate it) of this country then I will have dust off the old fatigues and clean my newly issued M16. Its a damn shame we got peeps over there but if we gotta have them, let us not turn our backs on them, where we go one, we go all. Lets us not incessantly criticize the President, let us not act the way the Dems acted last night, let us not speak anti-war rhetoric though we have the right to do so given to us by the very folks who are in harms way doing their part, not to mention folks who left lives back here, left families back here to do a job.....anyway most of you get my meaning and of course you do too Elaina, Im preaching to the choir now probably but I suppose those that dont get my meaning might wanna chime if you so please.

Republicans, Democrats, gold jacket, green jacket who gives a shit - all the same. The boys are only out for themselves, all politicians are bought and paid for long before they set foot in Washington. Quite discouraging, really - the govenrment has become more like an exclusive country club and non-members can just forget it. The media is right up there with them, FOX being touted as a conservative network and CNN more liberal. They seem to have forgotten they are there to report news, not make it.
